week 2 and 2 beats and beyond

Day 1

This week we have been learning about music. The first day we had to complete a set of questions the best we could and this showed how much we already know and how much we didn't know about music. After doing this we had to complete another set of questions one of which asked what we would like to learn in music I answered by saying that I would like to learn about the history of music and I would love to learn how to play a piano and violin. Then Ms. Burtch showed us a video's which included a video of the song called   poi-e   we also watched ed sharen looping sounds to make one of his famous songs known as  shape of you   one of my favorite videos we watched was a whole school doing the cup song  it was pretty great.  After we watched another video by a band called S.T.O.M.P where they made a video using junk around a junkyard.

Day 2

Today it was day two of learning about the music first Mr. Mitchell showed us four different guitars one was an electric guitar with whammy bar the whammy bar made changed the tension on the guitar.
The second guitar was a silver string guitar it was big and round it was the color of cut wood. The third guitar was a medium size this guitar was called a neon guitar the color of it was bright pink and it was out of tune. The last guitar was called a backpack guitar it was very very small and portable so you could take it on a plane. This guitar did not look like the others it was a triangle and it had a very small sound hole in the middle of it. After learning about the guitar we had to make a front cover saying beats and beyond. Beats and beyond was the title of our hurumanu. after making my front cover I needed to write a glossary about all the other things we learned about after doing this I just needed to complete my blog post and now I am done it so I say Goodbye.

science

Today we done science and we had to categorize foods on what they look like their chemistry name and weather they where a solid liquid or gas first I decided to do the original names of the foods and next i choose to do the chemistry name next. too my surprise they were all weird but unique names
I don't really get why there is a science name for all of these food and liquids I cant you call them by there original it would be so much easier for scientist I mean way easier.

I think this is a little bit weird but also genius because it gives more information about it and it helps me understand the unique  calculates and simulates in the liquid and fruit.

science

Aim: To see which chemical
mix creates the most gas.

Hypothesis: (What do I think will happen)

1.

Materials: yeast experiment
  1. balloon
  2.  sugar
  3.  yeast
  4.  warm water
  5.  fan ole
  6. bottle
My hypothesis I don not think it would rise because I is a bad combination of yeast and water

grab a empty bottle take off the lid pour 2 tea spoons of yeast into the bottle and one tea spoon on sugar into the balloon using a fhanule next ad a little bit of warm water and then attach the balloon to the top and now wait

2

Materials: backing soda and vinegar

  1.  backing soda
  2.  balloon
  3.  empty bottle
  4.  fanoule
  5.  vinegar

 Steps:
grab an empty bottle take off the lid use the funnel  put  backing soda into the bottle then put half a cup of vinegar into a balloon using the funnel then attach the balloon to the top and wait

Hypothesis
I think it would work because of the combination of the vinegar and the backing soda would make heaps of gas the  gas would rise to the top to make it blow up

3

Materials: soda water and salt

  1.   soda water
  2.  balloon
  3. funnel
  4. bottle
  5. salt
 Steps:

gap an empty bottle take off the lid and ad soda water to the bottle using a funnel then grab a balloon using a funnel pot the salt into a balloon then attach the balloon to the bottle and then wait

Hypothesis

We new it could work because it would release carbine dioxide.

My images:

Findings:
the first experiment had lots of bubbles and a medium amount of air in the balloon
the 2nd experiment had a small amount of bubbles but it was the biggest balloon with the most air and the 3rd balloon  had a medium amount of bubbles and a tiny amount of air inside of the balloon My new hypothesis is that the bottle with the less bubbles inside has the most air inside of the balloon

Balloon 3
( 3 tsp baking soda, ½ cup vinegar)
Balloon 2
( 3 tsp salt, ½ cup soda)
Balloon 1
( 2 tsp yeast, 1 tsp sugar )
Balloon Size (cm)
15 cm19 cm8 cm
Bubbles
medium amount of bubblessmall amountlots of bubbles

conclusion

I liked all the experiments because I showed how you can have the same gas but with different ingredients it can show different results to your answer and I help us with team building

STOP WRITE HERE!!!! week 3 storyboard sketches.

this week we have been learning about art and making a story bored about  our story bored is about 3 light bobs out topic was hurumanu  the people in my group is... Hannah Roxy Makinzie Liyah and me when we where finish our work we had to give our work to someone  to give us a Positive thoughtful and helpful comment but for my opinion  I felt very sad on the comment they gave us so they kindly made it more happier.

A day of cleaning and planing about fruit

For last Couple of weeks we have been led ears of Hornby by cleaning up our whole school we are thinking of making and dump to a butterfly garden where birds can come. First we had to put some gloves on our hands to stop yucky germs coming then we started the I picked up large sticks that was bigger then my body and I stacked them in a big pile and then  I used an rake to collect all of the leaves. I decided to use a shovel so I can pick up the dirt and put it in a compost bin. There was rubbishy surrounding us so we all picked it up and then before you know it you can see ground.

The teacher told us we could go and look for bugs because we did such a good job looking after Hornby there was so many bugs I found like worms spiders and huhu grabs. I didn't want to touch the bugs but I loved watching them and how they lived there life's.

Our teacher said we should use some plumes from the plum tree and make some Yum recipes
Ms Ellen said we could make so plum jam but Ms Mitchell said we should make some plume souse but there are so many plum recipes in the world  so I decided to find a really cool plum recipe we could use to make this is what I found.

This is some tasty sorbet ice cream that can be a good treat for your friends and family it is perfect for a hot day because it will help you cool down .

This recipe would be good for an picnic at the park and plum tart can feed your whole family but that depends on how big it  is. This is a good treat for your family because of it yummy taste.

sometimes it is good to just have a perfect rich plum you can get it from your local supermarket or a garden I think the best plums you can have is the ones you grow to grow a plum you would need.......

  • A plum seed
  • a place to bleary it
  • soil or dirt
  • water
  • sun
  • Time

Spelling city

This week we have been learning about spelling city and how it can make a big impact on my learning. What is spelling city?  Spelling city is a learning website that test you on your personal spelling knowledge and it take that knowledge and puts it in their learning games to help you spell them correctly  next time then they test you to see how much you have learnt using there games.

I think this website is good because it test your knowledge and try to improve your learning.

Tane Mahuta

For the past two weeks we have been learning about  Tane Mahuta. The first week we took a walk around the school to check out the abandoned  places around the school half the places we went to was lettered with rubbish. We stopped by a large plum tree and picked the most ripest plumes. We decided to go inside and get into teams of 3 we had  to start planing about what we are going to do with all the places that the school don't use anymore. My group decided we should build a playground and a garden also a bird enclosure. The next week we had to clean up the rubbish  We use ...

  1. 2 sack
  2. 2 shaves
  3. 4 rakes
  4. rubber gloves
  5. plastic bags

As we walked we collected rubbish some kids found very cool things one of my friends found
money and another kid found a phone and I found a car-wash sing and a Doritos packet that was made 3 years ago but some of the stuff we found was not so cool the bad stuff we found was packets of smokes broken glass plastic bags and beer bottles we decided to take a photos and  of out discovery.
