Reflection

Today I did a couple of activities for school today nothing too big just like a drawing of a self-portrait and a sports game. The teachers decided to act completely abnormal this time and I guess that is the most normal they can be because being normal is not really normal just like being perfect is the most unperfect you can be. Anyways's back to the topic at hand The teachers decided to exchange their roles and become an actress in the fine arts of drama and theater by being the olden days stereotypical type of teacher and the second teacher taking the role of a Sargent in an army camp. Ms. Taylor in the first activity told us the rules and instructing them by becoming more forceful as went the game went along by telling us to drop and give her a push-up like I said she was like a Sargent in the army. I also notice that in the middle of the game she kind od dosed off and that was completely apart of the act to see how we children will act I guess my group after became very chaotic and confused which is probably a normal reaction if our teacher lacked the part of being a good teacher. I was a bit confused but I had a good team so I was a bit calm.

In the second activity, we needed to do a self-portrait with no intrucsions of what kind of artistic style we had to do we also had I time limit that made me and some of the other student pretty upset. Like I said Ms was very much like an olden day style type of teacher she made a bunch of threats telling the students that if our work looked terrible to her taste then we had to stay in for detention. Also, I forgot to mention she also made the students get in a line from tallest to the shortest and shortest to tallest like ms Taylor out Ms also went out of the room a bunch of times that played on my nerves a little bit emphasis on the little but I was pretty calm and got my work done faster and then I started to just doodle a bit so I guess I can be alright under pressure but not completely.

can experirnce

AIM: Today in science we did a can experience. here is what to do

Items you need

Bucket of Cold Water

 Warm Water in a Can

Element

Hypnosis: there would be a lot of steam

Scissors tons

What you need to do is take a Can fill it up with warm water then place it on an element. Put cold water in a

bucket or a lunchbox container. When steam comes out of and it is boiling take use Scissors tongs open them out wide and pace a tight grip on the can. Take the Can over to the cold water and dunk it in upside down. Then you can see what happened to you can

Conclusion: Once the can it the water it turned cold and tighter to make the can look crushed.

This happens because when the top of the soda can comes in contact with the cold water it colds down and

changes to hot to cold making the can tighten.

Art

My artwork

We have been learning about Hannah Hotch a famous girl who became famous for her work. She youse her art skills to make a photo montage using scissors she cut out pictures and put them together. Hannah Hotch was very ahead of her time. When you would see her work there could be a picture of a man wearing a dress or something usual that would be different in her time.

We got sent a task to have a montage inspired by Hannah hotch. First I made a montage of different cartoon characters to have a play with, I noticed that it looked fun a unique but other ideas came to my head so I abandoned that montage.

Draft one

Next, I wanted to make something more meaningful, I decided to use a baby for my second montage. I decided to play around with the color of my pictures and changed my baby's eyes to other infants' eyes that were black and white. After starring at my work I started to wonder what it meant to me I could come up with nothing, I only thought it looked cool.

Draft two

After draft two I decided to do a picture of my family. I collected photos of my siblings and cousins when they were younger, a picture of my mum, dad, and dog. I made my cousins and sibling small because it represented when I was younger and how it was easier. In my photo, I also added each house I have ever lived into ad some history to my photo. Even though this was my completed photo montage it still felt unfinished that being the reasoning It took me so long to be complete. I still feel it is uncomplete I wish I was able to add different color contrast to my picture but I couldn't and I wish I found the thing it needed to be completed in my head but it still means something to me so that is the reason it is done.

30 secound film reflection post

In class R8 Inside and out is our Hurumanu but English and Film plus science are what we focus on. For film studies, we watched Coroline two times over and wrote summary's over it if we needed more clarity on what the movie was about we got to rewatch the movie in our own time the only time we could not watch the movie was when we got put to the test and had to do our last report on the movie. Learning about Coroline and the film technics was a great way to prepare us for what was to come.

What was to come.

We found out that our next step was to make a thirty-second film in the time range of 6 hours. we needed to have completed a plot then recorded our plot and edited the recording to get our thirty-second film.

My group Started with my friends Lily, Abbagle, Kahciar and me but after having some trouble deciding what to do and having our film done our group gained more members to help us, Emily and Lucy. With Help from Emily and Lucy, we decided to do a film about basketball. Abbagle, Lucy, Lily played actors. Kahciar's role was the camera person. Emily's job was the director and I got the job as director's assistant.

I enjoyed Filming a fun film with my friends. Sometimes it could be difficult but it was overall fun and enjoyable educational time.

Making the film I learned it takes patients' technics and a lot of skills. Also having a great team is very important for the whole process.

To have a great 30-second movie you need the perfect camera angles. In my group, our camera angel's we youse, High shot, low angle, close up, point of view, and over the shoulder.

Challenges I faced accepting. The challenge I faced was that I over annualized a learning activity that was meant to be fun. I learned you can still do your best job at your work well still having fun. I also found challenging making a plan and sticking to it.

Next time differently I would have tried a different role we have different partners to see what they would have done.

Melodrama

In drama for the past few week's we have been learning melodrama and what is it kind of style. Melodrama originated from Victorian times. Melodrama is very dramatic you can tell that it is very dramatic by looking at the way the actor uses there characters body language like when they fall down they don't just fall fast. Some fall gracefully like a feater well another fall with a big thump. My favorite fall out of all is the one that look's like your about to die and take your last breath. One other way of Melodrama be dramatically dramatic is the way people gasp or speak they speak loud with a huge open mouth like they are about to sing at the opera.

The way character is betrayed in Melodrama.

The villains In Melodrama seem to act loud and their inner thought's about there an evil plan become loud thoughts leading them to scream there plan to the audience. The villains are usually played by a male lead what is sexist in my opinion but sometimes Melodrama can be silent so they would you words.

The Hero's  In Melodrama is almost like a prince in a fairytale they are always there to save the day by announcing it which to me is kind of dumb because if I would save someone from a villain I would call they cop's or keep my mouth shut so the villain could not here me. Once again the Hero is portrayed to be savvier who is a man and always delays the women to marry him for saving her.

The Victim In Melodrama is the person who needs saving from the villain and can't help themselves. The role of the Victim almost always goes to the girl. I mean it is great that Women finally get a role in Melodrama but the victim really! Women are perfectly capable of looking after there selfs or Killing a person and they can get away with it. They can save a person's life I mean have you seen a female doctor or cop because I have but this was victorian times I mean even in Victorian time's women are still smart and strong. I guess it was easier for people to not let women shine but instead make them look like hopeless fools. But people are Still making Women look hopeless in Melodrama what is really sad and make me angry I hope the change will come and maybe the woman can be a hero or villain at least make her save herself. At the end of the Melodrama, women have usually married away to the Hero in Melodrama.
